Start of Term 3

Kia ora and welcome back to Term 3 in Room 10. We started the term with a powhiri to welcome new tamariki and whanau to our school community.
Our first week back this term focused on all things to do with 100 as we celebrated our 100th Day of learning together. Take a look at some of the activities we got up to including making trail mix with 100 pieces, a 100 jelly beans graph and 100 Crowns. You can also check out the amazing 100 posters that were made as part of a holiday challenge.
Our Room 5 buddies helped us to use an app which aged our faces so we looked like we were 100. We then wrote descriptions of what we would look like when we were 100 years old. Check them out on our Kidzstuff blog using the link on the right hand side of this page.
Our buddies also looked after us when we went to NMIT to see the Art exhibition by Rose Shepard who had been working in our school.
We were busy learning new sproting skills this week including hockey and petanque, I loved the "I can attitudes " with everyone having a go.
In maths with Sam we have been learning about time and ordering events in our school day.

In music we have been thinking about high and low sounds.
Discovery Time has focused on the Key Competencies of Relating to Others and Managing Ourselves. You will be able to spot plenty of examples of these in this slide show.
